Q. Can I join a beginner's class?
A. Yes, at Richmond Park Bowls Club we will give you the opportunity to try bowls for free, we supply all the equipment but do ask that you wear shoes with a flat level sole to protect our green.
Q. Are the classes mixed gender?
A. Yes, and once you begin to bowl there is every opportunity to play in men's leagues, ladies leagues, mixed leagues and of course all the friendly matches that we run throughout the season.
Q. Having joined a club can I play in local leagues or do I need to travel very far?
A. The Bournemouth and District League is played at local venues within a short distance from the club all of these and many more I consider being on our door step.
Q. I am still working and have a young family, what bowling can I participate in?
A. Richmond Park Bowls Club does have working members and the club are aware that mortgages have to be paid and families catered for so you will find many opportunities to bowl at times that suit you and yours, why not bring the family!
Q. Is the club open all year?
A. Our calendar is always full and as a member you can participate as much or as little as you wish. Yearly events take place such as Presidents' Day where we have fun bowls, produce stalls and sometimes a barbecue. Social nights have included a 1940's night, musical evening and a steel band to name just a few. These have been accompanied by fish and chips or buffet meal. They have all proved to be great fun.
During the winter months we hold indoor events which include whist drives, military whist, darts, board games and short mat bowls - so you would never be short of things to enjoy. So why not come along to see us in our superb clubhouse which has a licensed bar and spacious seating area, the members will always give you a warm welcome.
